Tonight the mon....
Well, since I don't have time to blog anymore (too much work, mp3 weblog listening, et cetera), I figured I'd post some other links to some found music from some mp3 weblogs. Kind of, another aggrator in the room of thousands of aggregation.
Low from 3hive, which seems like a cool mix of tracks. Low is one of those slow moving bands I feel like I lived through college. They play a very slow, melancholy, sort of music. Purposeful, yet, not in your face. They're from Duluth. When I've seen them live, it was some of the best tones I've heard. There has been mixed reaction from their latest release, though, I really like the stuff I have heard. If anything, check out the track called "Monkey," I think that's a pretty good one.
Cartel I got this from from Information Leafblower. Reading this weblog reminded me of going to lots of shows where you have no idea what the bands are, or what they sound like, and being pleasantly surprised by them. I really like the Cartel track "Fleets"
Autolux from yewknee. Though, not an audio weblog, still one that I frequent everyday. I rarely leave comments and such, but I read and follow most of the links on his site. Very cool design stuff, and some music stuff. Anyway, I'm getting off track here. Please click on "_Autolux--Demonstration (Silver)" on that page, for three very RARE songs from Autolux. I have yet to be able to point anyone to samples from Autolux, but this does just fine. In fact, if you want, I'll offer up the fact that the song "Sub-Zero Fun" was the song that made me get into Autolux, after being just kind of "so-so" on them. Now I'm totally hooked. This version is much rauchier at the end, than the one on their album, Future Perfect. Here's a little lineage on Autolux that was pointing to the fact that I should like these right from the start. Guitar player was from Failure. One of my favorite bands. DMZ signed them (Coen Brothers Record label, also Alison Kraus' label- another of my favorite artists). T Bone Burnett produced and engineered them (great producer of some cool bluegrass stuff)... duh, it's all pointing to, "yeah, you should like them before you even hear them." No such luck I guess. Oh well. The artists that I get into slower than others seem to have the most impact on me anyway.
Autolux. You rock.
Short on the personal stuff, I know, but then again... I'm short on the personal stuff right now.
