The crap, and what to do with it:
As I drove to work this morning, I wondered if there were any laws saying that "oversized load" trucks can't pass other vehicles. There were a couple I passed this morning, with huge earthmovers on them, and they had to be going 75 mph, passing other cars. Seemed pretty hazardous to me. If there isn't a rule, I think there should be. I just hope they were late or something, so it justified such speedy driving.
Lately, all I've been wanting to do is go to a river, and either hike, boat, or fish. I've been thinking a lot about the Buffalo River I used to fish at as a kid up in Osseo, Wisconsin. I wish there were more places like it close to where I lived. On the Buffalo River, almost everything was accessible by foot. Everything seems so much bigger down here than than there. All the lakes, rivers, cities, everything. Sometimes I see this as a good thing, but sometimes not. I remember fishing on opening day on Lake Martha, in Osseo, all over the place. You don't need a boat there as most good fishing is done from land. I wish I could find a place like that here. All the lakes and rivers are big, and you really need a boat to navigate to the "good spots". Ah, I'm sure this reflection and nostalgia will all go away once the bugs come out. Then I'll be like, "no way man... it's too buggy."
Songs:
I don't know what's funnier, the fact that these are all MIDI files programmed, or the fact that it's a computer talking. Man, it's funny either way. This is almost as if a computer covered these songs, by themselves. Obviously, whoever put these all together has a lot of time on their hands. Taken from Dictionaraoke, I suggest you check out the A-ha song, "Take on Me", and the Slayer song, "South of Heaven", and the XTC song, "Senses Working Overtime". The AC/DC song, "Highway to Hell" is done up straight Karaoke style, except with a dictionary voice. Would've been really funny if it was done with MIDI too.
Also, thanks to mp3 weblogs, here's another band that caught my eye, Douglas Heart. You can find some of their tracks for download, and note that I think this is what Lizzie McGuire would sound like if she was in a band that took their influences from My Bloody Valentine, or Ride, or Swervedriver or some other band in the same type of genre. It's kind of noisy stuff, and doesn't let your ears rest much, but I still kind of like it. So many bands, so many bands. How does everything all fit?
